MatSci-SAM provides model drafts within New term and Suggest a revision. You review and edit the text before publication. This human-in-the-group AI workflow records the contributor and model behind a published draft.

Suggest a definition for a new term

Enter a term on Contribute and select Draft with a language model. Any definition text you already entered is sent as context. The result appears in the editable definition field.

Select Publish new term after reviewing the draft, or Remove model draft to continue without it. A published model draft credits you and the named model. An optional example you write receives separate attribution. The model generates definition text only.

Suggest a revision to a definition

Open a current definition and select Suggest a revision. The action is also available in Discussion and study Position steps.

1. Describe the error, ambiguity, or missing distinction in What should change?
2. Select Draft revision with a language model. The request includes the term, source revision, and your critique.
3. Review and edit the returned definition. Check the model tag shown beside the draft.
4. Select Publish revision or Discard draft.

Publication creates a separate candidate credited to you and the model. The original remains available. The record links the candidate to its exact source revision, critique, prompt, and stored model output. Request a new draft if the source revision changes before publication.

In a study, begin with Revise this definition. Publication also records your Position and completes the step without casting a vote. ID4 round two then advances to the next unfinished step. Studies with a separate Review round allow votes and comments there. See the Position step.

Keep the actions distinct

Suggest a revision creates a separate candidate. Edit on your own definition appends a revision under its existing identifier. Both forms use Publish revision as the final button.

Use Comment for discussion, Propose a replacement for a candidate you write to supersede another, and Add example for an example of use. These actions do not request model output. A study proposal is an independent definition for the current term.
